Welcome back to another Costco Weekend Update! Can you believe it’s already the last weekend of April? Time’s flying—and so are some of the new arrivals and limited-time finds at Costco right now. I’ve highlighted some of these, plus a couple of places I stopped by in between Costco runs.

(I wish they would bring the gelato back!)
I forgot to snap a recent photo of the food court menu, so I dug up an old one from 2015—back when I was on vacation in Oregon. A lot has changed since then, and even more is about to: Coca-Cola products are coming to Costco food courts this summer. That means Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite will soon replace Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, and Starry. I wonder if this could be a membership deal-breaker for die-hard Pepsi fans? Just kidding.
Let’s dive into…
What’s New at Costco
New and already about to depart: Crofter’s Organic Peach Premium Fruit Spread. It looks delicious, but let’s be real—how do you get through a 41-ounce jar in just 30 days after opening? Beyond the usual toast or ice cream topping, you can get creative: bake it into cobblers or jam-filled cookies, stir it into smoothies or tea, or even whisk it into a marinade for chicken or pork. $7.79. Prices and availability may vary by location. Item #1826071.

I had no idea Entenmann’s Little Bites had such a fan following—until I spotted Costco’s take on them: Kirkland Signature Chocolate Chip Mini Muffin Bites. In true Costco fashion, their version is more budget-friendly and the ingredients are a little different, too. The box comes with 20 pouches, and each one has 4 mini muffins—great for lunchboxes, snack breaks, or late-night cravings. 190 Calories per pouch. $8.79. Prices and availability may vary by location. Item #1873060.

Ok, so maybe these aren’t new but it’s been awhile since I’ve seen it at my local Costco. Red Rock Deli Sweet Chili & Sour Cream Chips are kettle cooked potato chips that have a little sweet and a little heat. A 22-ounce bag is $7.99. This item is only in stores for a limited time. Prices and availability may vary by location. Item #1352235.

In-Between Costco Runs
Sweet Afternoon
I was craving something sweet from a bakery when I stumbled across the Too Good To Go app. It connects you with local spots offering up their unsold food at the end of the day at a discount. The catch? It’s a mystery bag.

The chocolate croissant in the middle was divine
(also pictured, almond croissant, blueberry scone, cinnamon pastry, sugar donut, tea cookie)
(Selection will vary since it depends on their end of day inventory)
I was already in downtown Kent and saw that Wild Wheat Bakery had a surprise bag available for afternoon pickup. Perfect timing. For $6.99, I ended up with six baked goods that would’ve normally cost way more than that. The chocolate croissant was easily the highlight—flaky, rich, and chocolatey. The cinnamon pastry with vanilla glaze though… not quite my thing.
Nature Walk (Goose vs. Duck)
With the sunny weather this week, I finally got the chance to explore Clark Lake Park in Kent, WA. Tucked away on about 154 acres, it’s a peaceful little spot with a small lake, a few easy trails, and a touch of nature on the edge of town.
The trails are mostly dirt and gravel, with one short section of boardwalk that takes you over the marsh. It’s not a huge park, but it’s a nice place for a relatively quiet walk—especially on a weekday when it’s less crowded. You can still hear cars from the nearby road, but the sound is distant and doesn’t take away from the peaceful vibe.
When I got to the lake, I saw a duck snoozing on a log and a goose just about to make a u-turn.

The goose started honking, and then the duck quacked back.

Reluctantly, the duck wobbled down the log to make room, and the goose hopped on the log.

Resolution—they’re now enjoying shared custody of the log, but no eye contact. lol

Back on the trail, a few notes if you plan to visit: watch out for tree roots and rocks sticking out along the path. The main trail to the lake seems like it could be manageable for wheelchairs with assistance, but there are a few gentle slopes and uneven areas to be aware of. The deeper trails through the woods aren’t wheelchair accessible and can get muddy after a decent rain.

Clark Lake Park has a very small parking lot—make sure to lock your doors—and no restrooms, so plan ahead. Swimming isn’t allowed, but fishing and birdwatching are popular here. You’ll find a few benches scattered throughout if you want to sit and take it all in. While there are some wide, grassy hills, I wouldn’t recommend going alone, especially into the more wooded areas.
Overall, a lovely little escape for a quick nature break between Costco runs.
