Korean Kimbap is finally at my local Costco and I had to try it!

Hanwoomul Fried Tofu and Vegetable Kimbap has finally popped up at my local Costco! While it’s on its way out at other locations that debuted it in the spring, it’s just landed in freezers at some Washington state Costco warehouses. I just finished my last kimbap roll that I purchased from Trader Joe’s so I was excited to try Costco’s version.

The Hanwoomul Kimbap stays frozen until you’re ready to heat it up in the microwave. And it conveniently only takes a few minutes. Each kimbap roll is individually packaged and pre-sliced and contains seaweed, rice, fried tofu, burdock, spinach, carrot, pickled radish, and a variety of seasonings.

The Hanwoomul Kimbap has a lot of flavorful veggie filling and rice that has a nice chew to it. While I did enjoy Costco’s product better than Trader Joe’s, the kimbap sold at Costco has a massively long list of ingredients plus MSG. On the other hand, Costco’s kimbap is cheaper and it sounds like it may only be available for a limited time. So, I’ll probably still continue to buy Trader Joe’s version, but also stock up on a few bags from Costco.

Cooking Instructions: Microwave

1. Keep frozen until ready to use for food safety and quality.
2. Heating times may need adjustment depending on your microwave.
3. Gently tear open a corner of the bag to allow for proper ventilation, then place in microwave.
4. Microwave on HIGH for about 3 minutes (700W microwave) or 2 minutes and 30 seconds (1000W microwave).
5. Allow it to cool down for a minute.
6. Product will be hot to touch! Using protective gear, carefully remove product from microwave.
7. Enjoy!
