OMG! Costco just released these brownies at my local Costco and the name they gave it certainly fits. It’s definitely a Decadent Fudge Brownie! I would even venture to say it’s an extreme fudge brownie. You’ve got a very rich and sugary brownie with chocolate chunks, chocolate fudge icing, a brownie crumb topping, and another drizzle of icing. And the whole thing weighs 3.75-pounds! Seriously. And the price is $12.99, which may seem a little high, but they do use butter and cocoa, and again it’s very heavy at about 60-ounces.
Is the Costco brownie good?
Well, that really depends on how you prefer your brownies. These Kirkland Signature brownies are very fudge-like, almost like it’s under-baked, a bit chewy and very sweet. My kids liked it but it was just a little bit too sweet for me. It does balance well with some Kirkland Signature vanilla ice cream!
What about allergens?
You’ll find the allergens labeled on each package of brownies. The allergens listed are wheat, milk, egg, and soy. And it’s produced on equipment that also processes peanuts and tree nuts. If you have more rare allergies, please carefully read the ingredient list for information. Be sure to check the label every time you purchase it, in case the ingredients in the recipe change.
Which locations carry the Decadent Fudge Brownies?
I bought mine at the Tukwila, Washington Costco in the bakery department but the first photo in my blog post was taken at the Covington, Washington Costco. The good news is these brownies seem to be popping up at other locations around the country, too. And apparently, some California Costco locations got early access to these brownies this summer. The best way to find out if your local Costco carries it, is to call your local Costco and ask. It’s Costco item #1469317. Visit costco.com to find your warehouse contact information.
As with all things at Costco, this is available while supplies last. Unfortunately, it may be not available at all Costco locations. Prices may vary by location. Limited to stock on hand. When in doubt, call your local Costco before you go. Photos may not be a perfect representation of the product, especially the color.
